Customer: “Why is this $4.99?!”

Me: “Because that’s its price, sir.”

Customer: “But yesterday it was $2.99!”

Me: “That’s because it was on sale, but the sale ended yesterday.”

Customer: “So an item can just double in price overnight?!”

Me: “Yes, sir.”

Customer: “Well, that’s stupid!”

Me: “No, sir, that’s a sale.”
