(My manager has an irreverent sense of humour and occasionally threatens people, jokingly, with outrageous punishments.)

Coworker: *getting up from her desk at the same time as boss* “Okay, time for my one to one. If I come back with a black eye, you know why.”

Manager: “And if I come back with a black eye… something’s gone wrong.”
