Raising A Little Thief

(I am in a fast food place and have just sat down with a small portion of fries and a chicken leg when a woman with her son walk past in the queue. As they pass the boy grabs my chicken in one hand and my fries in the other and begins cramming them in his mouth.)

Me: “Hey!”

Mother: “Oops! Well, boys will be boys.”

Nearby Staff Member: “Madam, you will have to pay for that gentleman’s meal.”

Mother: “Manager, now!”

(After much arguing with the manager, the woman paid the £1.99 for the food and dragged her son out of the building, announcing as loudly as she could:)

Mother: “No, we can’t eat today. We don’t have enough pennies.”
