Put The Veil Under The Bed And Pretend It Never Happened

(My mom and I are watching TV when there’s a scene where the mother of the bride starts panicking about how someone put the wedding veil on a bed, making it unlucky. My parents divorced when I was very young. Also, my mom used to run a website about superstitions.)

Me: “It’s unlucky to put a veil on a bed?”

Mom: “Huh…” *thinks* “I’ve never heard of that one, but I guess that’s where I went wrong.”
