Pride Before A Fall… Literally

I am notoriously clumsy and often bump into everything. On one such occasion:

Me: *Boink!*

Wife: “Ow, are you all right? That sounded loud.”

Me: “Yeah, I’m fine, just my pride that’s hurt.”

Wife: *Without hesitating a second.* “Oh, that’s fine. Your pride is used to it.”
