Plot Twist: He Drove Off In The Jeep And Came Back For His Car

, , | Right | November 1, 2024

I work the back of house. We’re the guys who bring down bicycles, power wheels, and other large items that are purchased from the back of the store, up front to the customer.

A customer has purchased a large power wheel (Barbie Jammin’ Jeep ’08 model I believe). When I bring it out, I see the customer standing next to his car. A small, two-door Nissan.

Me: “This box will not fit in your car. We can hold it for you if you wished to come back later with a larger vehicle.”

Customer: “That won’t work, I have to get the Jeep now because I’ve been searching for it for weeks.”

Me: “The box it comes in is almost as big as your car; it will not fit.”

Customer: “That’s bull.”

He has me attempt to load the car into the trunk, and then the front seat, and the trunk again. After twenty minutes of failure, I declare:

Me: “I can no longer spend time on this. I can write down your information, put the jeep on hold, and wait for you to return with a different car.”

Customer: “I’m going to continue to try and put it in my car.”

I leave him be and resume my work. About a half hour later, I get a call from the customer service desk that I have to bring a returned Jeep back to the storage area.
