Please Tell Me You’re Kitten

(My boyfriend is picking me up for a date. For some reason, my youngest cat absolutely adores him, and he her despite the fact he’s horribly allergic to cats. I’m holding her while my boyfriend scruffs her. It should also be noted that my nickname among our friends is Kitty.)

Boyfriend: *scruffing my cat* “Oh, how I love this kitten. She’s my favorite kitten!”

Me: *giggles*

Boyfriend: “Of the cat variety.”

Me: “What?”

Boyfriend: “Well, you’re my favorite kitten!” *he kisses my forehead, then goes back to petting my cat* “But this is my favorite cat-kitten.”
