Pink Eye Red Alert

(My chemistry teacher is an elderly gentleman who is known to be very eccentric, but by this point has most likely had tenure for at least 15 years. He also always wears all black. This occurs during the last week of the year.)

Teacher: “I have been here every day this year unless I have had to go to a meeting.”

Student: “What if you’re sick?”

Teacher: “I get pink eye all the time and still come to school! Whenever I get it, I just wear dark sunglasses!”

(The students laugh. As we walk out of the classroom:)

Me: “Have you ever seen him NOT wearing dark sunglasses?”

Friend: “Nope!”

Me: “Isn’t pink eye very contagious?”

Friend: “Yup!”
