A customer is paying using a credit card. This is back when chip and PIN were quite new.
Me: “Does your card use a PIN?”
Customer: *Loudly.* “1234!”
Me: *Winces.*
Customer: “Oh my god, I was kidding. Did you actually believe I would just blurt my PIN out like that?”
Me: “You wouldn’t be the first one…”
Customer: *Their turn to wince.*
Me: “…today.”
Customer: *Wincing intensifies.*
