PIN-Headed, Part 2
(The chip card readers don’t have selections that say “Credit” and “Debit.” For a lot of customers, this can be really confusing, so my coworkers and I usually ask customers which they prefer, to help them decide which option to choose.)
Me: “Debit or credit?”
Customer: “This is a debit card; I want debit!“
Me: “You’re going to select the bottom option and hit enter.”
(The reader prompts the customer for a PIN.)
Customer: “I don’t want to use my PIN.”
