Oh, Gee… It’s Almost As If Threats Don’t Work?
These are the first words out of this caller’s mouth:
Caller: “You c***s have been stealing from me for a f****** year! Give me my money back, you absolute w*nker!”
Call notes show that he’s been doing this to four agents so far that morning, and apparently, he has no intention of stopping. A couple of minutes of ranting later, he says:
Caller: “Get me your manager!”
I’ve maybe said two words, but I take this as an opportunity to say:
Me: “I’ll go speak with my manager.”
And then I put him on hold. Breathe. I talk to my manager, who says:
Manager: “Give him three strikes for abusiveness and then hang up.”
Which I do! But before I can hang up, he says:
Caller: “I’m going to keep calling back and abusing you f****** people until I get my money!”
A few weeks later, the manager who’d told me I could disconnect emails me.
Manager: “I’m letting you know that I listened to the call, and I perceive that last part as a threat. The customer is going to receive an official warning letter for his conduct and might get his service disconnected with termination fees.”
But being nosey, I checked the notes, and it turns out this is the SECOND time this has been done. So… no more phone plan for the shouty man!
Almost makes up for all the a**holes who pull similar crap and get away with it, or get given credit for it even.
