Nothing In French Is Corny

| Learning | March 10, 2016

(In French, we’re learning how to put sentences together, and have been told to write things on the board like “I am happy” or “I am excited” etc. One of the newer students doesn’t pay a lot of attention, and before we were being warned about mixing up certain words.)

Teacher: *reading through our sentences* “Je suis- Wait what?! Je suis corné? Who wrote this?”

New Student: “Um… me?”

Teacher: *uncontrollable laughter* “You know what that means right?”

New Student: “I am happy?” *Je suis content*

Teacher: “Not quite. It means ‘I am horny.’ I was telling a story about someone mixing up the words in the past. Were you listening?”

New Student: “…Not really?”
