Not So Hot On Friends Like This

| Friendly | November 5, 2014

(I’m bisexual, and I currently have a girlfriend. I don’t often talk about my personal life, but I don’t hide my sexuality. I’m hanging with some friends and we start talking about our significant others.)

Friend #1: “I and [His Girlfriend] have been together for a while now. It’s kinda weird.”

Friend #2: “Yeah, after a while it’s kinda like you don’t really remember being without them.”

Me: “It’s weirder when people you know don’t remember it being different.”

Friend #1: “[My Name], aren’t you single?”

Me: “No, I’ve been with [Girlfriend] for almost a year now.”

Friend #1: “Wait, [Girlfriend]?! You’re a [homophobic slur]?!”

Me: “…I’m bisexual. You haven’t known that?”

Friend #2: “Dude, she’s told you before. You’ve seen her and her girlfriend before, remember?”

Friend #1: “I just thought she was trying to look hot for some guy.”

(Friend #2 and I stopped hanging out with Friend #1 after that.)
