Not So Closed Minded, Part 48

, , , | Right | November 12, 2025

The weather is beginning to turn cold, and the nights are getting long and dark, so we’re all less patient than usual with being kept late and past closing by dawdling customers.

Manager: “Ma’am, the store is now closed. Please take your purchases to the register to check out.”

Customer: “Why does it feel like you’re rushing me?”

Manager: “That would be because I am rushing you, ma’am. You have run out of time to do any more shopping. You need to purchase what you have now.”

Customer: “That is not how you treat a customer!”

Manager: “Technically, you stopped being a customer at 9 PM.”

Customer: “Fine!”

She throws her single item to the floor.

Customer: “You just lost a paying customer!”

Manager: “Ma’am, we have six staff being paid overtime because you refuse to leave. We will absolutely survive losing the sale of your $5.99 mittens.”
