Not Making A Graceful Exit

I am a customer. I have just approached the restrooms in the back of the store when I notice a sign on each of the restroom doors: “Not an Exit.” The following exchange occurs as I check out.

Me: “What’s up with the signs on the bathroom doors? Are they really necessary?”

Cashier: *Sighs* “Due to customer complaints, we have decided that those signs are needed from now on.”

Me: “Seriously? Even with the giant signs on the door that say, ‘Restroom’?”

Cashier: “Apparently, not everyone pays attention to where they came in from.”

Me: “How many times?”

Cashier: *Sigh of exasperation* “Too many times.”
