Due to some surprisingly successful viral marketing, our store is suddenly very popular. A customer has walked in and walks straight up to the counter to order something.
Me: *Between three customers and not slowing down one bit processing orders.* “Sir, please go to the back of the line before ordering.”
Customer: “I just want one thing. Get me a—”
Me: *Interrupting him, talking to another customer.* “—Here’s your order, sir. Thank for your patience.” *To the line-jumper.* “Most people in line only want one thing. Please get in line.”
Customer: “I’m a loyal customer! I just want a—”
I interrupt him again to talk to another customer and shout a few orders down the line to some coworkers.
Customer: “You just lost a customer!”
Me: “Sorry, sir, I can’t hear you over the sound of all of our customers.”
