Not Even In Line And Out Of Line, Part 10
I work at a well-known video game chain. COVID is just starting to kick off, with a shutdown order of non-essential businesses coming into effect next week. While we’re still open, we have a limit on how many people are allowed in. It’s also the release of two popular video games, so we have a line going down the building.
A guy skips the line and reaches for the door.
Me: “Oh, heads up, we can only allow five people at a time in, and we do have a line!”
Customer: “Oh, I’m just here to look.”
Me: “…there’s still a line.”
Customer: “Really? This is stupid.”
He leaves. The first person in line looks at me.
First Customer: “Wow, does he really think that not buying anything magically makes us disappear?”
