Not Even A Pound Sign In England
(Ever since other fast food restaurants have started a dollar menu, we get customers coming in asking if we have one. We don’t and most of the time they understand. However, recently, we’ve started advertising for one of our burgers. It’s the #2 double-meat burger. Some people seem to only see the “2” in the advertisement, though, and this conversation happens more than it should.)
Customer: “Hey, can I get the $2 number two?”
Me: “I’m sorry, it’s not $2; that’s just referring to the combo number.”
Customer: “But it says ‘2’ on the sign!”
Me: “Yes. That’s a pound sign in front of it.”
Customer: “No! That’s a dollar sign…”
Me: “…”
