Not An Intelligent Way To Encourage The Class

| Learning | May 6, 2017

(This is in a freshman world history class. Student #1 is known for being distracting and saying weird things during class.)

Teacher: “Does anyone know what ‘CIA’ stands for?”

Student #1: “Computer Intelligence Technology!”

Teacher: “No, that would be CIT.”

Student #2: “Central Intelligence Agency.”

Teacher: “Yes, [Student #2] got it. See, it has “intelligence” in it, so you need intelligence to know the answer. That’s why [Student #1] didn’t get it.”

Me: *speechless*
