Not An Intelligent Way To Encourage The Class

(This is in a freshman world history class. Student #1 is known for being distracting and saying weird things during class.)
Teacher: “Does anyone know what ‘CIA’ stands for?”
Student #1: “Computer Intelligence Technology!”
Teacher: “No, that would be CIT.”
Student #2: “Central Intelligence Agency.”
Teacher: “Yes, [Student #2] got it. See, it has “intelligence” in it, so you need intelligence to know the answer. That’s why [Student #1] didn’t get it.”
Me: *speechless*
