Noel! And No Sugar Either
(Christmas break for my fourth-grade school year has just ended. Mine has been memorable, to say the least. On our first day back, I’m dropped off too early, and end up in my classroom with my teacher and one other student.)
Teacher: “So, what did you guys get for Christmas this year?”
Student #1: “I got a really nice desk for my room!”
Teacher: “Cool! What about you, [My Name]?”
Me: *deadpan, with a smile* “I got diabetes.”
