No Vocation For Location, Part 24

, , , | Right | August 16, 2020

I am a librarian. This story happens at least once a week.

Patron: “Hi. Could you help me with something on my computer?”

Me: “Absolutely!”

I stand and begin walking toward our computer area, where we have over thirty computers. The patron tries to let me pass and go first.

Me: “Which computer are you on?”

The patron points towards all of the computers.

Patron: “That one.”

Me: “Sorry, which one?”

The patron stands firmly in place and points towards all of the computers.

Patron: “That one right there.”

Me: “Could you lead me there?”

The patron sighed and started walking, leading me to a computer nowhere near where it looked like they were pointing.
