No Vocation For Location, Part 19
High School | Learning
| December 15, 2015
(I’m an Australian teaching at a fairly isolated school in the UK and the kids tend to be very insular and ignorant about the world outside of their area. This has to be the worst experience I’ve had with their lack of knowledge though… To clarify, this student is 15 years old!)
Me: “Do you know what the capital of Australia is?”
Student: “Um… America!”
(Even worse, some 15 minutes later from the same person.)
Student: Miss, what’s a politician?
