No Retail Employee Is Paid Enough For Any Of This
Everyone who works with customers comes across impossible requests sometimes. Here are just a few I’ve seen.
Customer #1: “Would you talk to my temp agency to be a reference for me?”
Me: “You want me to call your temp agency?”
Customer #1: “No, I want you to go there with me; we can take my car! We can go right now, if you want. Or after your shift. I don’t care which.”
And then there was this guy.
Customer #2: “Do you carry motor oil?”
Me: “No, we don’t, but [Auto Shop] does. We don’t sell car things here.”
Customer #2: “Would you walk over there, buy the oil, and bring it back for me?”
Me: “Sir, that’s several miles away.”
Customer #2: “So?”
Then, there were the guys who tried to physically force me to go to their party, for which they had just purchased over $300 worth of beer. They grabbed me by the arm and started pulling!
