No Cat If You’re Still Catatonic

(The week before finals, my school has therapy animals to pet. They only have one cat, so you have to be at the school at a specific time to pet it, whereas if your want to pet a dog you can go any time. My roommate and I both plan to pet the cat.)

Me: *having gotten up later than usual* “Good morning, [Roommate].”

Roommate: “Good morning. Hey, do you know when [Cat] will be on campus? I woke up late this morning and got worried I missed it, but then I realized you were still in bed. You wouldn’t be in bed if there was a cat to pet.”

(My roommate knows me very well.)
