(My brother is getting married soon and my mother is taking me along to a fitting appointment for her dress for the wedding. I live out of state and have never met the dressmaker before. I am a bit on the chubby side, but hourglass shaped.)
Mom: “[Dressmaker], this is my daughter, [My Name].”
Dressmaker: *looks me up and down* “Well, you have a pretty face…”
Me: “Uh, thanks?”
