Needs Serious Help

(My coworker is a nice person but she can be a bit over enthusiastic sometimes.)

Customer: *looking around*

Coworker: “Hi, Need help?”

Customer: “Oh, no, I’m staying here. I’m looking for someone.”

Coworker: “What room are you in?”

Customer: “[Room].”

Coworker: “Oh, okay.” *calls out to me* “Come here! [My Name], come help her!”

Me: “…Huh? Me?”

Customer: “I said, I’m fine. I’m just waiting for someone.”

Coworker: “[My Name]! She needs help! Now!”

Me: “She said she was fine…”

(There is an awkward pause of us three just staring at one another.)

Customer: “Oh, there she is!” *runs off*

Coworker: *yells after her* “Happy to help! Have a nice day!”

Me: “…”

Coworker: *to me* “Why didn’t you help her? You made me look like an idiot!” *flounces off*
