Name Blame Game, Part 3

(My boyfriend and I are both male. We are talking about future baby names, and it’s only been a few months into the relationship, but we have these kinds of talks for fun. We’re also pretty nerdy, and his last name is Kirk.)

Me: “Well hey, at least it’s not as bad as what [Mutual Friend] would name their kid if they had one: ‘Epsilon Kersplodicus .Jpeg!’ I s*** you not!”

Boyfriend: “That poor child. At least mine’s not that bad.”

Me: “If we ever get a kid, we’re naming him James Tiberius Kirk.”

Boyfriend: “No, it’s Morgan Sparrow Kirk.”

Me: “What? Why?”

Boyfriend: “Because! Captain Morgan, Captain Sparrow, and Captain Kirk!”

(I stare at him for a good few seconds before laughing hysterically.)

Me: “That poor child! Alright, if it’s a girl: Morgan Sparrow, if it’s a boy: James Tiberius.”
