(In health class, we’re going over infectious diseases and discussing syphilis and spirochetes.)
Teacher: “Spirochetes look like squiggles and move like corkscrews. They burrow into your skin, infecting you.”
Student: *raises his hand and asks* “Can’t you just pluck them off?”
Teacher: *pauses* “Um, what?”
Student: “Can’t you just pluck them off, to keep them from burrowing in?”
Teacher: “Well, like all bacteria, they are microscopic. You cannot see them.”
Student: “Oh, okay.”
(Dude straight up thought it was like crabs.)
