Must Have Burrowed Into His Brain

| Learning | May 22, 2017

(In health class, we’re going over infectious diseases and discussing syphilis and spirochetes.)

Teacher: “Spirochetes look like squiggles and move like corkscrews. They burrow into your skin, infecting you.”

Student: *raises his hand and asks* “Can’t you just pluck them off?”

Teacher: *pauses* “Um, what?”

Student: “Can’t you just pluck them off, to keep them from burrowing in?”

Teacher: “Well, like all bacteria, they are microscopic. You cannot see them.”

Student: “Oh, okay.”

(Dude straight up thought it was like crabs.)
