Mothers Can See Through Walls

(I am stuck in bed while waiting to have surgery on my back. Luckily, my bed is positioned to see into the living room where my sons are watching television. I notice some strange shadows. After watching for a few minutes, I figure out they are traveling around the room entirely on top of different pieces of furniture, one of which is a four-and-a-half-foot-tall entertainment center positioned near a flight of stairs.)

Me: “Hey! Stop walking on the furniture. That’s dangerous!”

(Instant quiet. Then, my middle son whispers:)

Middle Son: “How did she know?”

Youngest Son: “Mom knows everything.”
