Mother Comes To An Understanding
(My mom calls me, and we have a pleasant chat.)
Me: “I saw the balloons for [name of my two cousins] birthday. Man that was a funny photo.”
(The photo in question is of two balloons sitting next to each other. Because my cousins are turning six and nine, the balloons have been set up in a certain way.)
Mom: “Yeah, I saw that too. However, I don’t get why your aunt and uncle find it so funny.”
Me: “Mom they were laughing about how it spells out ’69’.”
Mom: “I don’t get it. What does that mean?”
Me: “You honestly don’t know what ’69’ means?”
Mom: “No, I don’t.”
(I then proceed to explain the act of ’69’ to her.)
Me: “Do you understand?”
Mom: “Yeah, but how did you know what that meant?
Me: “Uh…”
