Boyfriend: “I hate Valentine’s Day! It’s just another gimmick. I don’t think I should have to be romantic, when I can be romantic any other day of the year!”
Me: “Actually, you should. Your argument would work if you were actually romantic. Since you aren’t, I would appreciate it if you were romantic ONCE, even if it IS on Valentine’s Day.”
Boyfriend: “I’m romantic! I take care of you!”
Me: “How?”
Boyfriend: “I cook for you, and I let you stay the night here even though you breathe loudly, and I drive you places!”
Me: “Dried-out chicken that you complain about having to make for me doesn’t count. ‘Letting’ me sleep here while you sleep in the other room doesn’t count. Seriously, would it kill you to buy me flowers?”
Boyfriend: “I just don’t think you understand romance!”
