This Is Not The Summer Cottage Of Love

(I work in a very large grocery store. I’m sitting at my register when a man in his fifties comes around with his three children, all of whom are older than I am. The beginning of the transaction goes fine until I tell him his total:)
Customer: *while paying* “So, would you like to come to our summer cottage with me today?”
Me: “Sorry, sir, still a few hours more to go…”
Children & Me: *embarrassed*
(Not the worst but most decidedly the most blatant pick-up attempt I’ve ever come across in my seven years of working retail!)
