Monday’s Badge

(In my company, everyone has to wear an ID badge visibly, either on a neck strap or on a belt clip. My colleague and I have just started for the day when our manager walks past our office and greets us. About half a minute later he comes back, looking a bit distressed.)

Manager: “Hey, guys, have you seen my badge? I must have just lost it. Did you see it drop here?”

(My colleague and I look at each other, not wanting to sound like a smart-a**.)

Colleague: “Uhm… I think you are still wearing it.”

(My manager feels around his neck and finds that the strap is still there; the badge having moved to his back when he took off his jacket.)

Manager: *grabs his badge off his back and walks back to his office, grumbling* “Monday…”
