Mojitos Make Up For A Mom’s Mediocre Makeup Mastery

The afternoon before our high school prom, the girls and I got together to do makeup, help each other with dresses, and generally be excited about one of the first big parties of our lives.

Two girls’ moms helped us out with the makeup. One was a professional makeup artist who worked in an actual makeup store. The other mom was… not. She was trying her best, but even she realised she couldn’t match the level the other mom was achieving.

Eventually making a joke of the whole thing, she started wiping off all of one friend’s makeup that she’d been working on. [Friend] was surprised.

Friend: “What are you doing? Did you make a mistake?”

Mom: “Kinda. Compared to [Professional Mom], everything I am doing makes you girls look like something God drew with his left hand. I’ll make myself useful and go make some virgin mojitos instead!”

We were all so happy she could laugh at herself, and her mojitos were amazing!
