Model Pupil

(My sister has just started college. She has chosen environmental engineering as her career. She arrives at one of her first classes.)

Sister: “Hello, is this [Professor]’s class?”

Girl: “This isn’t modeling school, you know.”

(My sister is baffled by this girl’s attitude but doesn’t answer. In the following classes she makes more snide remarks about how my sister is just a brainless beauty, until the results of the first test arrive and my sister got a much better grade than her.)

Sister: “Good thing this isn’t modeling school, right?”

(She never said anything after that.)
