Maybe It Was For An Extra Large Yule Log?
We have just opened on December 26th. We were closed on Christmas Day, and we had closed earlier than usual on Christmas Eve. Within five minutes a customer is angrily pressing the service button at the customer service desk. This is even though I am standing a few feet away and the customer is glaring at me.
Me: “Can I help you?”
Customer: “You closed early on Christmas Eve! It was very inconvenient!”
Me: “As a home improvement store, we don’t see too many customers on Christmas Eve, so we close early to allow workers to go home to be with their families.”
Customer: “But I needed to buy a toilet!”
Me: “I’m sorry you felt inconvenienced, but our holiday opening times were posted for over a month ahead of schedule.”
Customer: “I needed it last minute!”
I got my manager to speak to them. It turns out that the toilet was intended to be a last-minute Christmas gift!
