(I am sitting on my sofa reading a Batman comic when my ten-year-old nephew walks in and stares at me intently.)

Me: “What’s wrong, sweetie?”

Nephew: “I’ve just realised something about you.”

Me: “What is it?”

Nephew: “You read Batman, you have every episode of Futurama, you like Star Trek and Firefly. You’re a geek!”

Me: *smiling proudly* “Yes I am. I have been a geek since I was six. Are you okay with this?”

Nephew: “I think I’ll live with it.”
