Manipulation For Lunch
(I’m around five and my brother is eight. Even though I’m younger, I’ve always been the manipulative one. We’re playing one day, and I get hungry.)
Me: “[Brother], I want lunch.”
Brother: “Okay.”
Me: “Make me lunch.”
Brother: “No. If you make me, I’m telling mom.”
Me: “Let’s play restaurant. You be the waiter and I’ll be the customer.”
Brother: “Okay! What can I get for you ma’am?”
Me: “PB&J and a juicebox.”
Brother: “Right away, ma’am.”
(The sad thing is, this strategy worked for years and he never figured out what I was doing.)
