Making The Wrong Kind Of Leap

I work in a nightclub. My job is to check IDs as no one under twenty-one is allowed in. A guy comes up and presents me with a VERY well-made fake. In fact, I wouldn’t have been able to tell it was fake at all except for one small detail.

Me: “Sorry, pal.”

Guy: “What? It’s a real ID.”

I point to the birthdate listed.

Me: “Nope. Remember the song? Thirty days hath September, April, June, and November…”

Guy: “F***! September thirty-first? I’m gonna kill that a**hole!”

He grabbed his fake and sprinted away into the night.
