Making Homework Work

| Learning | September 13, 2016

(This happens on the first English class of high school. After the students sit at their desks, the English teacher walks in, writes his name on the blackboard, and then turns to face the class.)

English Teacher: “My name is [English Teacher], and there’s something very important that you all need to know before we start this school year off: I don’t care if you don’t do your homework. You heard me right. I honestly, truly, do not care. You want to know why? Because, if you don’t do your homework, at the end of the day, you’re the idiots who fail, and I still get paid for teaching you.”

(And that’s the story of how I met one of my favorite teachers!)
