(My boyfriend brings me out to dinner with his parents, his aunt, and her two friends, who turn out to be two visiting elderly nuns.)
Nun #1: “You both are so cute!”
Boyfriend: “Thank you.”
Nun #2: “What attractive siblings. Do you get along well?”
(My boyfriend and I share a look. We look nothing alike, given that I have red hair, and he has brown. We silently decide to go with it, since his parents aren’t correcting them either.)
Me: “That we do.”
Nun #1: “That’s good!”
(We get through dinner in silence. We both agree to this day we’re going to Hell for lying to two old lady nuns.)
