(There are two women making out in a doorway I’m trying to get through. I have waited a short while to see if they notice, but haven’t. I decide to ask them. I am male.)

Me: “Excuse me, could I please—”

(They both stop and glare at me.)

Woman #1: “Get out of here, before we call the police!”

Me: “No, I just want to—”

Woman #2: “Didn’t you hear her? F*** off!”

Me: “No, I want to—”

Woman #1: “F******* homophobes!” *gets her phone out*

Woman #2: “It’s a free country. It isn’t illegal anymore, you c***!”

(She reached in to kiss her girlfriend again, who was dialing but soon gave up. I lost my patience and just barged through them. They both shrieked at me for being homophobic and gave chase, but stopped as soon as I took my boyfriend’s hand and kissed him on the cheek. Both of them sputtered and turned away. I see them both occasionally, and they recognise me. Their either turn away or bow their heads, blushing.)
