‘Last Time’ Wasn’t Even The Last Time!
At my store, which is privately owned by my boss, teachers and kindergarten teachers get a 3% discount by default for any purchase made for their school/class/kindergarten. This particular woman comes in almost every week and always tries to get even more of a discount out of me.
Customer: “And I get a discount.”
Me: “This is a kindergarten purchase, yes?”
Customer: “Yes, yes. I always get a 10% discount for the kindergarten.”
Me: “Sorry, but the kindergarten discount is 3%.”
Customer: “No, your boss gives me 10%!”
Me: “My boss was the one who specifically told me not to give you more than 3%.”
Customer: “But last time I was here, the cashier gave me 10%!”
Me: “Last time, that was also me and you tried the same thing to cheat 10% out of me. Next time you try, you’ll pay full price. Are we clear?”
Customer: *Grumbles but pays.*
My boss, who was nearby and heard the exchange but trusted me that she didn’t need to intervene, comes up next to me.
Boss: “Good idea. Next time I will make her pay full price. Serves her right for always trying to f*** with my girls.”
