Last Choice Friendship

(I’m female and been recently very sick for over two years. This condition made me gain lot of weight and lose some self confidence. I’m with a male friend, talking on how I feel lonely since a lot of my friends stopped hanging out with me.)

Friend: “I know you are lonely but cheer up! If you were to walk into a bar just like this, you could definitely get away with someone.”

(I smile, as I am in casual clothing, with no hair and make up done.)

Me: “Thanks.”

Friend: “You know, you’re a girl. Maybe you won’t be able to choose with whom and it might not be your first or second or third try, but at last, you could get someone!”

Me: *speechless*
