Kindness Can’t Be Benched

(Even though I am recovering from a bad accident, I insist on walking to the park with my boyfriend. Once there, I almost collapse. He leaves me on a bench and goes back home to get the car. I see a woman walking a huge, fuzzy dog and compliment the dog.)

Woman: “Would you like to pet him? He’s big, but he never bites.”

Me: “Sure, thank you.” *I pet him for a little while and talk to his owner*

Woman: “Are you waiting for someone?”

Me: “Yes, I got a little shaky on my walk, so my boyfriend went to get the car. He should be here in a few minutes.”

(Her dog was tugging to keep walking, but she still sat down with me, made conversation, and let me pet her dog until my boyfriend came.)
