Talking With Dad On A Whole New Level

(My dad is driving me and a couple of my friends. I’m sitting in the front seat turning around and having a conversation with my friends in the back seat. I am in junior high at the time and I have never sworn in front of my father before. My dad has a very intimidating appearance until you get to know him. One friend, upon meeting him for the first time described him as a scary CIA agent.)

Me: *in conversation with friends* “Oh, no! That’s such s***!”

(My friends and I freeze and go silent upon realizing I’ve just sworn in front of my father.)

Dad: *turning slowly to make eye contact* “Where the f*** did you learn that language?!”

(I think it took a good five minutes before my friends and I stopped laughing.)
