Just Say ‘Asian’

(I work in the back room of a clothing store. I’m allowed to listen to any music I want, which means I’m usually listening to K-Pop. This same conversation occurs for a few weeks.)

Coworker: “This is your Chinese music, right?”

Me: “Oh, no, it’s actually Korean.”

(My coworker finally got it down that the music I listen to is Korean. One day, I’m listening to a Japanese rock band instead.)

Coworker: *with a big smile* “Korean, right?”

Me: *trying not to laugh* “Um, no. It’s actually Japanese.”

Coworker: “Stop changing the d*** language on me, girl! I can’t take it!”

(Needless to say she doesn’t try to guess the language of my music anymore!)
