Just Reap The Change
(I place my two 50c items on the counter and hand the cashier a $2 coin. She accepts it but instead of handing me back my change, she just stares at me.)
Cashier: “…Anything else?”
Me: “Um, no, but they were only 50c each.”
Cashier: “And?”
Me: “I gave you $2.”
Cashier: *sighs* “Can’t you just pay a dollar each for them?!”
(I stare at her, taken aback, and she sighs again and practically throws my change at me.)
