It’s Thursday; Time To Eat Your Beetles

(I’m chatting with my friend while she does her homework. She remarks about how she’s always confusing the German words for “cheese” and “beetle” for each other.)

Me: “I get ‘Thursday’ and ‘eggs’ confused in Spanish.”

Friend: “Haha, well they do sound almost exactly the same! In German, beetle is ‘käfer’ and cheese is ‘käse.’”

Me: “That’s extremely similar, too.”

Friend: “I just know I’m going to order a plate of beetles someday. And you’ll be right along with me, ordering Thursdays.”
