It’s Scary How Many People Are Just Discovering Hand-Washing

I work in an office retail store, and like stores all over at this time, we do not have any hand sanitizer left. A customer points to a bunch of hand soaps on the counter.

Customer: “Will this clean your hands?”

Me: “Yes, it’s soap.”

The customer looks at the soap, looks at me, looks at the soap, looks at me…

Me: “It’s not hand sanitizer, so you need water to use it.”

Customer: “But… that’ll work?”

Me: “Yes.”

Customer: “So, I could use that to clean my hands?”

Me: *Pause* “It’s soap.”
